As a result of a fire that arose in a building adjacent to the gas station, a powerful explosion occurred. More than 60 people were injured, the exact number of victims is still unknown.
The fire occurred in the car service room and quickly spread to the gas station, after which the fuel detonated in the underground storage.
A crater with a diameter of 20 meters (65 ft) remained at the site of the explosion. 19 people died on the spot, more than 40 were injured.
Local hospitals were not ready for such an influx of patients, bloodied patients lie in the corridors.
The police are investigating the incident.
