A tipsy man with a backpack behind him tried to board a crowded shuttle bus. The driver closed the door in front of him.
The man cursed and suddenly pulled out a gun. Bullets flew towards the bus. One of them landed in the elbow of the right hand of 16-year-old schoolgirl Ani Leonova. The injured passenger was rushed to intensive care.
Having shot at the bus, the drunken bully got on the tram, but did not manage to get far. One of the eyewitnesses called the police, and the shooter was detained right in the cabin by the police of the Leninsky police department. A man could barely move his tongue. A pistol made of pipe trimming and adapted for firing 7.62 mm caliber cartridges from a Kalashnikov assault rifle was taken from him.
It turned out that the shooter was 40-year-old Igor P., a retired Pacific Fleet midshipman. It is noteworthy that the midshipman wrote a resignation report just a day before the incident.
The next day, in the morning, during a search in his apartment, investigators found 143 machine gun cartridges.
