Chess is not such a safe game if you use a chessboard as a weapon of attack. The incident happened to the administrator of the chess club.
The 63-year-old referee of the ‘Petrovskaya Ladya’ chess tournaments and the chief referee of the tournaments was hospitalized from the chess club with a concussion, a broken nose and lacerations on his face and head.
The same went to the security guard of the chess club, whose head was smashed with a chessboard, his ear was torn off and his nose was cut in half. The condition of the victims is assessed as serious.
The police are investigating the incident.
