A team of 13 workers was cleaning out storm drains when a sudden rise in water from heavy rain caused disaster.
5 were on the surface, 5 more people managed to get out of the collector, and three workers were sucked into the sewer by a powerful stream of water.
Rescuers arrived at the scene, but diving work was complicated by the narrowness of the sewer, and if the workers did not have time to grow gills, their corpses could be removed from the sewer only after the water level dropped.
It is reported that the bodies of the workers could have been carried away towards the Moscow River.
UPD: The bodies of the workers were found, they were carried away several hundred meters. The Moscow prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case against the organization that performed contract work.
