In Boston, Massachusetts, an 8-year-old child was killed in careless handling of a firearm.
He was shot by his own relative a year younger. The gun used by the children was not registered and the parents were not allowed to keep it.
Liquarry Jefferson was shot in the stomach and died a few hours later in a city hospital. A police spokesman said some of the relatives who were in the house at the time were involved in the weapon.
“This is a tragedy for two families – the relatives of the victim and the family of a 7-year-old boy who will be left with the knowledge of what he has done for the rest of his life,” one police officer said.
