A message about the bear’s attack on a group of teenagers was received by the Unified duty dispatch service the day before. The tragedy occurred in the area of the Neryungri-Gruzovaya railway station.
According to adolescents, on Saturday they went on a hiking trip unaccompanied by adults. After spending the night, the next day they climbed the hills, and when they returned, they found that the duffel bags left in the parking lot were torn, and most of the food was eaten.
While the schoolchildren put things in order in the parking lot, a bear jumped out of the forest and rushed at them. Children rushed in a scattering, but a hungry animal caught up with one of the teenagers.
The guys who managed to escape reported the incident to adults. Rescuers, police and ambulance officers immediately arrived at the scene.
Ten kilometers from the road in the forest, the torn body of a 15-year-old teenager, a ninth-grade student, was discovered. The bear was there. Police officers opened fire to kill, and the predator was killed.
