In Irkutsk, two men convicted of committing merciless murders escaped from one of the mental hospitals, the press service of the Irkutsk region’s police department said. The escapees were sent for compulsory treatment by the court of the Ust-Ordyn Buryat Autonomous Region.
In the hospital, the convicts performed household chores in the yard. On 2 May, one of the convicts threatened an elderly paramedic who was looking after them with a sharpening object.
The two convicts then took a cell phone from the paramedic and jumped over the hospital fence. In Irkutsk and Ust-Ordyn Buryat Autonomous Region, a search is underway for the escapees.
