During high-altitude work, an industrial climber who examined the house noticed that the cable on which he moved was clamped. The climber was blocked at the level of the 5th floor.
As it turned out, 80-year-old Yuri Ivanov blocked the cable because it seemed to him that terrorists were attacking him.
The climber began to call for help, but soon he himself was able to get through to the district police officer, to whom he informed about the incident.
The district police officer arrived at the scene and, with the help of persuasion, tried to enter Yuri Ivanov’s apartment.
However, the pensioner did not open the door, and then rescuers arrived at the scene and began to open the door of the pensioner’s apartment with the help of tools.
At this time, a shot was fired through the door and one of the rescuers was killed. The subsequent actions of the police and rescuers nevertheless helped break the apartment doors and detain the inadequate pensioner.
During the detention, Yuri Ivanov was wounded by police officers and is now in the hospital. As it turned out, the man was registered in a psycho-neurological dispensary.
During a search, another homemade gun and 21 hunting cartridges were found in his possession.
An industrial climber stuck on the 5th floor was also freed. The police are investigating.

The investigation established that on April 17, 2022, an 80-year-old local resident, having decided to impede the work of an industrial climber who was performing repair work, moved part of the climbing equipment to his apartment and thereby forced the climber to go down to his balcony. Further, the pensioner, using a homemade firearm, began to threaten the man, while forbidding him to leave the balcony. The climber turned to law enforcement by phone. In order to help him, the rescuer Mosoblspas arrived at the pensioner’s apartment and rang the doorbell of the apartment. However, the pensioner, refusing to open it, fired a shot at the door with an improvised shooting device and mortally wounded the rescuer.
To date, in the criminal case, investigators and criminologists have conducted an inspection of the scene, during which they seized two improvised firing devices, a fragment of a door with a bullet hole, blood washes, and 21 hunting cartridges. and other items relevant to the further investigation of the criminal case. A number of examinations have been appointed, including forensic, genetic, ballistic, it is planned to appoint psychological, psychiatric and chemical. The complex of investigative actions is ongoing.
