An 18-year-old teenager carried an explosive device into the building of the Serpukhov Orthodox Gymnasium, which is located on the territory of the convent and blew it up in the lobby.
As a result of the terrorist attack, 10 people were injured, students of the gymnasium aged from 12 to 15 years who were in the immediate vicinity of the explosion site. Most of the children received barotrauma and trauma from flying debris.
The terrorist himself, he turned out to be 18-year-old Vladislav Struzhenkov, was taken to the hospital, both of his legs were torn off.
He died a few hours later from his injuries.

Struzhenkov reportedly wanted a license to buy weapons, but was refused. Then he made an explosive device and decided to test it in action. He does not hate Orthodoxy, and he was also not subject to harassment from the students of the gymnasium.
After Struzhenkov regained consciousness, he was interrogated by the police. His relatives and acquaintances were also questioned.
Vladislav Struzhenkov had been preparing for an attack on an Orthodox school in Serpukhov for three months.
According to the boy’s parents, recently the son was seen by a psychologist and drank antidepressants. Elements for an improvised explosive device were found at Struzhenkov’s house.
Vladislav was subjected to some attacks in the gymnasium because of his completeness. In 2019, according to his acquaintances, Struzhenkov became more withdrawn, expressed the views of a misanthrope.
